The surface of the earth is called the crust. It is made up of tectonic plates.  There is molten rock inside the earth. When this molten rock tries to come out the tectonic plates move and an earthquake happens.

• When earthquakes happen loss of lives and property also happens. Sometimes the whole city can get destroyed so reconstruction of the city can cost millions of dollars. People have to live at camps for months. The builders have to reconstruct the houses and buildings. Also in earthquakes we have shattered windows, tilted cars, injured people, broken tracks, derailed trains, collused buildings, and blood’.

I am torty the lucky tortoise who was born in greece and i was living in a bush close to the battlefields where the new zealand soldiers were fighting in world war 1.. One day i was trying to cross the track when i got squeezed flat by a gun carriage and i was seriously wounded and i had two grooves in its shell and had lost some toes then a kind soldier picked me up and took me back to his camp. And bandged my bruses and soon i got healed and later i learnt that the soldiers name was stewart.
